The ZonarSound loudspeakers utilise a patented type of electrostatic loudspeaker technology developed by Warwick Audio Technologies Ltd but, unlike traditional loudspeaker technologies, they are extremely light, flexible and utilise very low power.
The ZonarSound speaker panels are planar drivers. In other words, sound waves radiate from the panels at 90 degrees to the surface, unlike traditional cone speakers where sound is dissipated over a wide area.
The planar nature of the ZonarSound speaker makes it far easier to direct sound more accurately into a specific area. In addition, the sound decays far less over distance than from a traditional cone speaker. This makes them an ideal solution for public areas such as airports and railway stations where messages can be directed to passenger areas, whilst avoiding distortion caused by roof structures and pillars.
